Tetracycline.
Tetracycline can be prescribed by your health care provider if you have acne, infections of skin, Lyme disease, Helicobacter pylori, infection of genital and urinary systems, respiratory tract infections, or to prevent anthrax. This antibiotic works by slowing down the activity of bacteria in the body. Tetracycline can come in capsules or liquid form, and you will need to take each form accordingly. The capsule should not be opened, and the liquid form is supposed to be measured with a special device that you should get along with the medicine. It's not recommended take tetracycline with any dairy products as they may interfere with the effects of this medicine. Make sure you tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medications, such as tretinoin, minerals, antacids, cholesterol-lowering medications, isotretinoin, blood thinners, or penicillin antibiotics, as interactions have been reported. Let your doctor know if you have hay fever, diabetes, hives, asthma, allergies, liver disease, kidney disease, or any other conditions that may affect the dose you are prescribed. It's also very important that you tell your health care provider about any contraindications you have, such as pregnancy.
